Norway recommended wearing masks in public transport

Since August 17, passengers using public transport services in Oslo and the municipality of Estfall have been advised to use individual oral and respiratory protection. This was announced on August 14 with reference to a statement by Norwegian Minister of Health Bent Hoye by the news agency SVT Nyheter. The decision of the Norwegian government to establish a masking regime in the capital and municipality of Estfall will enter into force on August 17 and will be valid for 14 days. On August 14, the Assistant Head of the Norwegian Directorate for Health and Social Affairs, Espen Rostrup Nakstad, also appealed to citizens to use personal protective equipment without waiting for the authorities to give away. For his part, Minister Hoye stated that the recommendation to wear masks in public transport did not apply to children, nor did it apply to preschools and schools. At the same time, in order to prevent speculative price increases and hype, Norway has a limit on the sale of masks of 2 bags/packages of masks per buyer. It is emphasized that pharmacy chains can establish local restrictions.
