Penetrates the brain: coronavirus can cause cancer

A new type of coronavirus infection can cause a brain tumor or accelerate the development of existing one, Turkish scientists have suggested. According to their study, the virus penetrates the brain, where it binds to the cells of the nervous tissue involved in the development of cancer, and changes their structure. Doctors explained to the News Agency that the COVID-19 affects the central nervous system, so the virus can easily enter the brain and provoke the development of cancer.
