In Seoul, due to rains flooded embankments and streets

As a result of heavy rains and an increase in the water level in the Hangang River, some parts of Seoul were flooded, due to which the city authorities closed the embankments, part of the expressways and some bridges. It is reported by TASS. According to journalists, a total of 16 people have died and 11 more are missing due to rain-related disasters in South Korea to date. In addition, it is indicated that over 1.6 thousand citizens were evacuated for the same reason in the provinces of North and South Chuncheon, Gangwondo and Gyeonggido. At least 5 thousand buildings were flooded or damaged as a result of floods, 8 thousand hectares of agricultural land were damaged, and three railway lines and 39 highways were blocked. At the same time, meteorologists predict that in heavy showers and gale gusts of wind will continue in the central regions of South Korea until August 7. Note, as reported by the news agency, earlier it became known that the Chinese authorities allocated 300 million yuan (about $43 million) to deal with natural disasters in Anhui province in eastern China.
