Belarus holds nationwide rally against Lukashenko's rule

On Sunday, August 23, thousands of demonstrations are taking place in all over Belarus: citizens demand that Alexander Lukashenko leave power, release political prisoners and stop repression. The Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Internal Affairs blocked passes to city centers, selectively detaining participants in protests.
