The head of the Pentagon and the German Minister of Defense discussed the reduction of US troops

The withdrawal of 9.5 thousand American troops from Germany was discussed by phone by Pentagon head Mark Esper and German Defense Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer, according to the website of the US military. Esper reaffirmed his country's commitment to the NATO bloc and long-term partnership with Germany. The parties agreed on close coordination on the development of further plans. According to the news agency, earlier US President Donald Trump said that the US authorities are considering the possibility of reducing their troops in Germany, since the German side pays too little for the maintenance of military personnel.
