Mexican authorities denied information about the tsunami threat
The threat of a tsunami as a result of an earthquake in Mexico was denied by the governor of the southern Mexican state of Oaxaca, Alejandro Murat. The refutation was made by an official on June 23 on Canal 6. The Governor stated that, according to the Ministry of Civil Protection and the National Coordinator, there was no chance of a tsunami. Recall that an earthquake of magnitude 7.1 occurred in southern Mexico in the state of Oaxaco. As a result of the earthquake, damage was caused to a number of buildings. Earlier, the news agency reported that the national tsunami warning center in the United States announced an alarm for the west coast of Mexico, Guatemala and El Salvador.
