Zelensky announced certain restrictions in local elections

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says that the upcoming local elections will be held against the backdrop of certain restrictions due to coronavirus infection. Already, it is necessary to think through mechanisms, procedures and financing in order to protect Ukrainians and give them the opportunity to freely vote for candidates, Zelensky turned to the government. In turn, Interior Minister Arsen Avakov drew attention to ensuring a sufficient number of those who will monitor the procedure during the voting, especially after the adoption of bills requiring more security officials in the elections. the news agency recalls that according to the decision of the Verkhovna Rada, local elections in Ukraine should be held on October 25 this year. Elections will be held on a new territorial basis and under new electoral legislation.
